Established in Northeast Ohio in 1967, the Keel-Haulers Canoe Club is a community of families united by a shared passion for paddling and the outdoors. While originally based in Northeast Ohio, the club has grown into a regional organization with members throughout Ohio and surrounding states.

Our members participate in a wide range of activities, with a primary focus on non-motorized water sports—including whitewater kayaking, sea kayaking, canoeing, recreational paddling, wilderness camping, rafting, and racing. Many members also enjoy other outdoor pursuits together, such as climbing, downhill and cross-country skiing, mountain biking, and hiking.

TRIPS & ADVENTURES

We schedule all kinds of trips for all styles of paddling.

From local, one-day outings, weekend camping, and multi-week excursions there is something for all ability levels. Trip descriptions include a difficulty rating to help you decide whether it’s right for you.

What's this? It poured rain last night and your favorite stream is runnable, but only for the next few hours? Plan impromptu trips with other club members utilizing our facebook page.

MENTORSHIP

Need advice or help with equipment? Looking to get into whitewater paddling? Or you're looking for help to prepare for an upcoming trip?

For all of this and more, look no further than the Keel-Haulers. We love to help each other and new paddlers.

We even host instructional sessions for members and have a library of materials available for self-study.

COMMUNITY

Scratch a boater and you find-a teacher; a truck driver; a engineer; a housewife; a computer programmer; a carpenter; a retiree; a fireman.

From all sorts of backgrounds and bursting with the tales of countless trips, we all have one big thing in common - a love of the outdoors.

One-by-one, each of us has discovered the joy of time spent away from civilization, in the company of moving water, rugged beauty, and new friends.
